Community standards
Report what happened. Don’t declare a verdict.
DamageLedger is useful only when contributions are specific, restrained, and respectful.
Describe observations and communications
Say what you saw, where on the vehicle you saw it, and whether it was at pickup, during the rental, or at return. For claims, describe what the rental company communicated to you.
Do not accuse people or companies
A repeated report may be relevant, but it does not by itself prove dishonesty, fraud, responsibility, or when damage occurred. Avoid speculation and inflammatory language.
Protect personal information
Do not submit names, faces, signatures, contact details, payment data, employee identifiers, or unrelated information about another person.
One event, one honest account
Do not fabricate, duplicate, coordinate, or manipulate reports. If you learn that your entry is materially wrong, contact us to have it corrected or withdrawn while self-service controls are being built.
Corrections and concerns
To flag an inaccurate, abusive, or privacy-invasive entry, email reports@damageledger.com with the vehicle identifier and reason for concern.
